Wiley Reed is a vital part of the Australian blues scene. For over four decade’s Wiley’s passionate vocals and sensuous piano have delivered feel good performances to his audience.
From his roots in Jacksonville, Florida, Wiley amassed his wealth of knowledge of gospel and blues. He launched his singing career at the tender age of 9 in the local church choir, and began caressing the piano at age 15.
Since those early days Wiley has performed around the globe throughout Asia, Europe, South America, the Pacific and the USA touching the hearts of listeners with the magic that is uniquely his.
Wiley is a mulit-award winning artist and a living embodiment of the blues. In 2003 he received the trifecta at the Queensland Recording Association “Sunnie” Awards for Best Male Vocalist, Best Blues Album and Best Producers for his CD “Straight from the Heart” and twice won Best Blues Artist at the Gold Coast International Jazz and Blues Festival.
From his extensive repertoire of jazz, blues, rock and country, tasteful ballads, as well as gospel and spirituals Wiley makes sure his audience has a great time. His golden rule is “I always make sure the folks leave feelin’ better than they did when they came in”.
