The piano has a time honoured tradition in the blues, and Paul Gioia has been showcasing the piano as a vibrant blues and roots instrument for many years.
One of WA’s foremost blues and gospel performers, Paul appears at Bridgetown with his trio Kristen Arnott (Iris) with a voice to die for, and Bob Thomson (Tin Dog, Diamond Dave) on sumptuous double bass.
Paul’s styles draw from the likes of Jay McShann, Otis Spann, Pete Johnson and Memphis Slim, and his repertoire includes not only high energy and original blues and gospel, but also beautiful ballads featuring Kristen’s amazing voice and Bob’s soulful riffs.
