With a Gibson pickup running through resonator slide guitar and a vintage 1960s Goldentone amp, 300 watt black widow bass amp, drums, blues distortion pedals running through harmonicas and vocals, there is a certain old raw sound happening.
They have styled in the likes of John Lee Hooker and Lighting J Hopkins and there new in the likes of Black Keys and Ash Grunwald.
Neil Ovenden and Justin (Gecko) Mason are the two piece ‘Desert Radio’ from Dunsborough Western Australia.
Neil on Vox, slide and electric guitars and harp & Gecko play the bass, slide and a hybrid drum set up that he plays with his feet. “Something just to watch in it’s self”.

Touring the south west supporting the likes of The Angels, James Reyne, Ash Grunwald, Dallas Frasca, Blue Shaddy, Bob Evens, Toby & Code Red, Earl Grey and the 2006 Bridgetown Blues Fest, and now signed 2007, winners and state finalist of Next Big Thing competition.
They have been well received everywhere they go and are building a strong fan base.
