dr reinhard neuhaus
It’s a long flight from the Spanish Island of Mallorca to the Blues Festival in Bridgetown Western Australia, but one renowned gipsy/blues violinist, 52 year old Dr Reinhard Neuhaus is looking forward to. Taking time out from his band, ‘Hot Club Mallorca’, Reinhard will be in WA for seven days and then returning to Mallorca.
Most of this time will be spent at the Blues Festival where Reinhard will be hoping to play with some of the top blues bands.
German born Reinhard studied classical violin from the age of five years and then switching to blues and rock and roll in the 60’s and 70’s in Berlin. Studying full time at university he became a dentist and pursued dentistry for the past 20 years before settling in Mallorca where he still runs a private practise.
“The violin is my passion and the blues my life blood” he explained to his long time friend Mike Warren in a visit to Bunbury this year.
“I want to come to the Blues Festival in Bridgetown and share my music and passion with the people” he said, “They will be in for a special treat and quite possibly not have heard such music as I will be playing” he also added. Reinhard’s electric violin was custom made in Queensland and features a dragon’s head at the neck with led lights as the eyes of the dragon. He will also bring his acoustic violin.
Dr Reinhard Neuhaus will be paying close attention to the blues bands featured at the Festival and hopefully play guest spots.
